Jonny Bairstow became the first English player to be sold in this year's IPL Auction as Sunrisers Hyderabad - fighting off King's XI - secured the wicketkeeper-batsman's services for 220 lakhs (£240,000).
Bairstow - who will be making his maiden Indian Premier League appearance - has been in fine white-ball form for England in 2018.
The Yorkshire man became the sixth Englishman to pass 1,000 one-day international runs in a calendar year, hitting 1,025, including four hundreds.

The IPL starts on March 23, with the final scheduled to take place on May 12 - Bairstow will be available until April 25 before leaving for England duty.
Meanwhile Alex Hales, Chris Jordan and Chris Woakes all went unsold in the first stage of the auction.
Elsewhere left-arm quick Jaydev Unadkat attracted bids from Rajasthan, Chennai and King's XI before landing with the Royals for 840 lakhs.
