The batter will miss KKR's crucial group match against Lucknow Super Giants and would also miss the playoffs should his side qualify
Ajinkya Rahane has been ruled out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League season due to a hamstring injury sustained against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 14.
The KKR batter is now also a doubt for Mumbai’s quarter-final match with Uttarakhand in the Ranji Trophy knockout stages, starting on June 4, and India's upcoming tour of England in July.
Rahane was injured during his innings of 28 (24) against Sunrisers Hyderabad and looked in some discomfort while running and frequently clutched his hamstring. He was treated by the team physio before being dismissed by Umran Malik.
KKR lost Pat Cummins to a hip injury earlier in the tournament
The 33-year-old, who has played 82 Test matches, 92 ODIs, and 20 T20Is for India, has been in and out of the KKR side during the 2022 season, scoring 133 runs at an average of 19 and strike rate of 103.9 in seven innings.
Aaron Finch, B Indrajith, Sam Billings and Sunil Narine are all in contention to partner Venkatesh Iyer at the top of the order.
The Knight Riders have been injury-hit this season, losing Alex Hales to bubble fatigue before the tournament and Pat Cummins to a hip injury in recent weeks.
KKR play their final group match against Lucknow Super Giants on May 18 and must win the clash in order to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.
