The Cricketer runs down the who, what, where, when, why, how much, which channel and how wet will it be as Ireland to the Caribbean to take on West Indies
Ireland are taking on West Indies in three ODIs followed by a trio of T20Is, with the first two games taking place in Bridgetown, Barbados. The next two will take place in St George’s, Grenada, before the tour comes to an end in St Kitts and Nevis.
FIRST ODI: Kensington Oval, Bridgetown (Tuesday, January 7, 1.30pm local time, 5.30pm GMT)
SECOND ODI: Kensington Oval, Bridgetown (Thursday, January 9, 1.30pm local time, 5.30pm GMT)
THIRD ODI: National Cricket Stadium, St George’s (Sunday, January 12, 9.30am local time, 1pm GMT)
With Kieron Pollard’s captaincy, there has been something of a changing of the guard. Hayden Walsh Jr, the former USA leg-spinner who impressed during the Caribbean Premier League, retains his place. So, too, does Brandon King, who enjoyed a terrific CPL. In Shai Hope, Shimron Hetmyer and Nicholas Pooran, the hosts have a formidable middle order for the Ireland bowlers to confront.

Shimron Hetmyer will form part of West Indies' middle order
For Ireland, Andy Balbirnie is now in charge, with William Porterfield stepping away from captaincy duties, though he remains part of the touring party. Mark Adair will be key with the ball for the visiting side. Gareth Delany made runs in a warmup match against a West Indies President’s XI.
West Indies squad: Kieron Pollard (c), Sunil Ambris, Roston Chase, Sheldon Cottrell, Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Brandon King, Evin Lewis, Keemo Paul, Khary Pierre, Nicholas Pooran, Romario Shepherd, Hayden Walsh Jr
Ireland squad: Andrew Balbirnie (c), Mark Adair, Gareth Delany, Andy McBrine, Barry McCarthy, James McCollum, Kevin O'Brien, William Porterfield, Boyd Rankin, Simi Singh, Paul Stirling, Lorcan Tucker, Gary Wilson, Craig Young
It is forecast to be typically warm in Bridgetown, though with a chance of some scattered showers. Similar conditions are forecast in Grenada for Sunday’s final ODI.
The ODI series is being broadcast on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland. It is available on Willow TV in North America and on Flow Sports in the Caribbean.
Dafabet has West Indies as 1/7 favourites, with Ireland available at 9/2.
