Rishabh Pant returns to India camp after Covid-19 recovery

The wicketkeeper-batter tested positive on July 8 but is now back with the full squad in Durham ahead of the England Tests

England confirm 17-strong squad for first and second India Tests

India have been boosted by the return of Rishabh Pant after the wicketkeeper-batter made a full recovery from Covid-19.

The 23-year-old was placed in isolation for 10 days after testing positive on July 8.

Pant did not travel with India to Durham for their pre-series warm-up game against a County Select XI which began two days after he emerged.

But he has now joined up with the remainder of his teammates a fortnight before the England Test series kicks off at Trent Bridge (August 4).

The BCCI wrote on Twitter: "Great to have you back."

Four other members of the touring party also had to self-isolate after being identified as close contacts.

Back-up keeper Wriddhiman Saha, reserve batter Abhimanyu Easwaran, bowling coach Bharat Arun and training assistant Dayanand Garani, who tested positive for coronavirus, were all forced to remain in London.
