New Zealand have named four uncapped players in their 15-strong squad for the Commonwealth Games.

Otago Sparks off-spinner Eden Carson and Auckland Hearts wicketkeeper Izzy Gaze are included alongside several household names in the travelling party for the 10-day tournament in Birmingham in July and August.

Batter Georgia Plimmer and keeper Jess McFadyen could also make their debuts in the competition.

The batter was a part of the New Zealand basketball squad for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

New Zealand are due to face South Africa on July 30 and Sri Lanka on August 2, before taking on host nation England on August 4. All the games are set to take place at Edgbaston.

"We can't wait to get on the plane," Devine said.

"To be the first women’s cricket team to represent the country at a global event like the Commonwealth Games is truly an honour.

"It's been great to get the group back together this week at Bay Oval and our new squad members are finding their feet and fitting in well."

New Zealand squad: Suzie Bates, Eden Carson, Sophie Devine, Lauren Down, Izzy Gaze, Maddy Green, Brooke Halliday, Hayley Jensen, Fran Jonas, Jess Kerr, Melie Kerr, Rosemary Mair, Jess McFadyen, Georgia Plimmer, Hannah Rowe
