Netherlands will host Ireland and Scotland in a tri-series ahead of the Men's T20 World Cup in the Caribbean and the United States

The six matches will see each nation play one another twice between May 18 and 24 at the VRA Cricket Ground in Amstelveen but there will be no final.

Concluding immediately prior to the three nations departing for the 20-team competition where they have been drawn into separate groups, it will provide an opportunity to fine-tune preparations.

All matches will be live-streamed by the European Cricket Network.

The Dutch, who reached the Super 12 in 2022, knocking out South Africa along the way, kick off their World Cup campaign in Dallas against Nepal on June 4.

"We are excited to host this Tri-Series as part of our preparation for the T20 World Cup played in America and the West Indies in June," said Roland Lefebvre, high performance director at the KNCB.

"Twenty teams will be competing in this year's event which makes this World Cup a truly global event, with more than a billion TV viewers worldwide. The Netherlands team will be aiming to emulate the success they had in Australia in 2022."

Ireland's preparations will also include a three-match T20I series against Pakistan in Dublin. They beat eventual champions England at the MCG two years ago but failed to qualify for last year's 50-over World Cup. Their tournament begins with an eye-catching meeting with India in New York on June 5.

"With the Afghan series in March, Pakistan in early May and now Netherlands and Scotland in late May we feel this offers the squad a range of high-quality opponents, which will put us in good stead for the coming tournament," said Cricket Ireland high performance director Richard Holdsworth.

Despite defeating West Indies in their tournament opener in Australia, losses to Ireland and Zimbabwe saw Scotland miss out on progression from the first round. Attempts to make amends begin with a clash against defending champions England in Barbados on June 4.

Cricket Scotland high performance director Steve Snell added: "I'm pleased with the quality and volume of cricket we have in the leadup to the Men's T20 World Cup, and this Tri-Series offers further vital preparation and crucial game time for our squad."
