England have called up Harry Brook to their T20I squad for this month's West Indies series as cover for Sam Billings.

Kent wicketkeeper-batter Billings has been added to the Ashes squad for the fifth Test against Australia at Hobart.

He remains part of the white-ball squad and has been assured of still being able to travel to the Caribbean. Tom Banton or Phil Salt are likely to take the gloves at the start of the series.

Brook will be released from his spell at Hobart Hurricanes where he has been playing at the Big Bash League and will return to the UK before flying to Barbados.

Last summer was a fruitful one for Brook, scoring 486 runs in 13 T20 Blast matches for Yorkshire and another 189 in five matches for Northern Superchargers in the men's Hundred.

But he's struggled to repeat that form in his maiden overseas franchise competition, making just 44 runs in seven BBL outings. Earlier in the winter, he played for England Lions in Australia.

West Indies host England in five 20-over matches on January 22, 23, 26, 29 and 30.

England T20 squad: Eoin Morgan (c), Moeen Ali, Tom Banton, Sam Billings, Harry Brook, Liam Dawson, George Garton, Chris Jordan, Liam Livingstone, Saqib Mahmood, Tymal Mills, David Payne, Adil Rashid, Jason Roy, Phil Salt, Reece Topley, James Vince
