David Warner spoke of his relief after his baggy green, which went missing ahead of his final Test appearance, reappeared at the Australian team hotel.

The hat had gone missing from his luggage in between the second and third Tests against Pakistan, during Australia's travel from Melbourne to Sydney.

But in a video posted by the opening batter on Friday morning, Warner revealed that he had been reunited with the sentimental cap.

He wrote: "Hi everyone, I am very pleased and relieved to let you all know that my baggy greens have been found, which is great news. Thanks to all involved and I am extremely grateful. Qantas, the freight company, our hotels and team management."

He added: "I will cherish this for the rest of my life."

"It's a huge relief David's cap has been located and a big thank you to everyone who was involved in the search," said Nick Hockley, Cricket Australia's chief executive. "We really appreciate it."

Quire how it reemerged in the team hotel has not been made clear.

Warner was dismissed for 34 in the first innings of his swansong but will have one final knock to come, with Pakistan leading by 82 runs, with three wickets in hand ahead of the fourth day.
