The 40-year-old Pakistan-born leg-spinner made five international appearances for Australia and is currently representing Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League
Australia have recruited Fawad Ahmed as a spin consultant for their multi-format tour of Pakistan.
The 40-year-old Pakistan-born leg-spinner, who made five international appearances for Australia in 2013, will work the squad as an additional net bowler.
Ahmed was in Pakistan prior to Australia’s arrival after being signed by Lahore Qalandars as a replacement signing for Rashid Khan.

He will remain with the side for the Pakistan Super League final on February 27 before joining Australia’s bio-bubble.
Australia Test captain Pat Cummins said: "Fawad Ahmed has experience of playing in Pakistan and PSL. He knows pitches in Pakistan really well so Fawad Ahmed as a spin consultant will be helpful for Australia."
Australia are touring Pakistan for the first time since 1998. They are set to contest three Test matches, with the first scheduled to begin in Rawalpindi on March 4, as well as three ODIs and one T20I.
