Following India's 3-0 clean sweep of the T20I series which took place in the United States and the Caribbean, West Indies face a do-or-die situation in the ODI series.
Virat Kohli's men won the second ODI in Port of Spain on Sunday, and with the last match of the series due to take place at the same venue, Jason Holder's side face a must-win situation.
Should India however repeat their result from the first game at Port of Spain, they will take their second consecutive series win against West Indies.
FIRST ODI: Providence Stadium Guyana (Thursday, August 8) - No result
SECOND ODI: Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain (Sunday, August 11) - India won by 59 runs (DLS method)
THIRD ODI: Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain (Wednesday, August 14)
Virat Kohli's men are yet to lose a game on their tour of West Indies, and in a tough match key performers once again stood out.
The captain himself was one such contributor, as he brought up his 42nd ODI century and surpassed former India captain Sourav Ganguly in terms of ODI runs scored. The only Indian to have scored more hundreds and runs overall is Sachin Tendulkar.
Kohli was well backed up by Shreyas Iyer's gritty 71, who threw his hat into the fire to become India's permanent fixture in the troublesome no.4 spot.
Despite an excellent partnership between Evin Lewis and Nicholas Pooran, Bhuvneshwar Kumar sealed the win for India with figures of 4-31.
With Mohammed Shami and Kuldeep Yadav also in the wickets, it is very difficult to see beyond an India victory to seal the series.

India made six changes from their World Cup semi-final defeat to New Zealand for the first ODI and retained that side following the wash-out.
Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Kedar Jadhav, Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav and Khaleel Ahmed all have come into the side. MS Dhoni is out of the tour altogether as he considers his international future while Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah will only play after the conclusion of this game.
Uncapped seamer Navdeep Saini has been included in the 50-over squad but having impressed in the T20s has yet to get a chance in the 50-over format, which may arrive here.
Dinesh Karthik has also been culled, as has Vijay Shankar, making Rishabh Pant the only wicketkeeper in the squad. Ravindra Jadeja continues to get games after coming into the side late on in the World Cup.
India squad: Virat Kohli (c), Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kedar Jadhav, Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed, Navdeep Saini
If the Windies had hoped that they could have swiftly put their World Cup disappointment behind them, then that has been cast away pretty quickly.
Evin Lewis and Nicholas Pooran were the only ones to significantly contribute to the batting effort in the second ODI but they, alongside Shimron Hetmyer, struggled for form after the World Cup.
Chris Gayle made his 300th ODI appearance and became their all-time leading runscorer in ODIs in Port of Spain, but whether he can deliver one final hurrah against a side that knows how to bowl to him remains to be seen.
There was just one change for the West Indies in Port of Spain from their final World Cup game against Afghanistan, with Oshane Thomas, who had been replaced by Roston Chase in Guyana, coming back into the side with Fabian Allen unwell. Keemo Paul and John Campbell are also in the squad with Sunil Ambris, Darren Bravo, Shannon Gabriel, Ashley Nurse and Andre Russell all casualties.
West Indies squad: Jason Holder (c), John Campbell, Evin Lewis, Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran, Roston Chase, Fabian Allen, Carlos Brathwaite, Keemo Paul, Chris Gayle, Sheldon Cottrell, Oshane Thomas, Shai Hope, Kemar Roach
After rain thwarted attempts to stage the first ODI, and briefly interrupted proceedings in the second ODI, it appears that it could have a role to play again. There will be periods of clouds and sunshine, but a couple of showers are also forecast.
