Mohammed Siraj has been released from India's squad for the second Test against England.

India have made two changes to the bowling attack which featured in Hyderabad, with Mukesh Kumar replacing Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav coming in for injured allrounder Ravindra Jadaja.

Rajat Patidar, meanwhile, is making his Test debut in Visakhapatnam, brought into the top six in place of KL Rahul, who has a quadriceps strain.

Siraj was used sparingly in the first Test, bowling just four overs in the first innings (0 for 28) and seven in the second (0 for 22).

He will be available for selection for the third Test in Rajkot. Avesh Khan has rejoined the squad as a substitute fielder in his absence.

In a statement, the BCCI said: "The decision was taken keeping in mind the duration of the series and the amount of cricket he has played in recent times."

England currently lead the five-match series 1-0 after completing a 28-run win in Hyderabad.

India XI for second Test: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Rajat Patidar, Shreyas Iyer, KS Bharat, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Mukesh Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav
