A left hamstring injury has ruled the 29-year-old out of the Lord's clash, forcing India into at least one change
England and India docked World Test Championship points for slow over-rates
India will be without seamer Shardul Thakur for the LV=Insurance second Test against England at Lord's starting on Thursday (August 12).
The 29-year-old has been laid low by a left hamstring injury which will force the tourists into at least one change.
Thakur claimed match figures of 4 for 78 during the first Test draw at Trent Bridge.
Captain Virat Kohli is hopeful that the Chennai Super Kings man will be available for the third Test at Headingley.
The World Test Championship runners-up must decide whether to replace Thakur with a like-for-like quick in Ishant Sharma or Umesh Yadav.
Spinning-allrounder Ravichandran Ashwin is also waiting in the wings after surprisingly being left out in Nottingham.
