Rohit is a four-time IPL winner with the Mumbai Indians and would be a perfect replacement according to the former allrounder
Rohit Sharma could ably assume the mantle as India's T20 captain if Virat Kohli gave up the position, according to Vuraj Singh.
Kohli is the skipper across all formats and therefore has an intense annual schedule, alongside the Indian Premier League.
Having led the Mumbai Indians to four IPL titles, Rohit is the vice-captain of both white-ball teams.
And if Kohli was to ever consider giving up the leadership position to the 20-over team in an effort to streamline his workload, Rohit would be the perfect replacement says Vuvraj.
"Earlier there were only two formats so it was easy for a captain to manage," he told Aaj Tak. "If the load on Virat is more than maybe they should try a different captain for the shorter formats. Rohit has done a fairly good job.
"I don't really know. They have to decide that how much workload Virat can take. It completely depends on how they want to go for the future. It is completely team management's call."
