India to play warm-up match against County Select XI before England Test series

India have suffered a positive Covid-19 case in their squad for the England Test series.

Local media as well as ESPNCricinfo are reporting that wicketkeeper-batter Rishabha Pant is the affected member of the squad.

The BCCI are yet to officially confirm the identity of the player but have said the individual has been self-isolating for eight days.

Vice-president Rajiv Shukla told PTI: "Yes, one player has tested positive but he has been in isolation for the last eight days.

"He was not staying in any hotel with the team, so no other player has been affected.

"As of now, no other player has tested positive. Also, you must be aware our secretary Jay Shah has written a letter to all players to maintain protocols."

The Indian Express understands that three coaching assistants are in quarantine due to the positive case and will also not travel to Chester-le-Street.
