What's the lowdown?

Despite a fine performance for the most part against Western Storm, Thunder found themselves on the wrong end of the final scoreline at Bristol after Anya Shrubsole's tail-end heroics dragged Sophie Luff's side to victory.

Earlier, Heather Knight had made 91 to foil Thunder's spin-heavy attack, led by captain Alex Hartley and England's Sophie Ecclestone. With the bat, Emma Lamb struck a terrific century, complete with 12 fours and a six, only to finish on the losing side.

Sunrisers, meanwhile, began their campaign with a chastening defeat at home against South East Stars. Trevor Griffin's side - the least experienced of the eight regions - conceded 44 extras, including 33 in wides alone - as Stars racked up 324 for 7.

In reply, there was middle order resistance from Mady Villiers, Grace Scrivens and Naomi Dattani but none of them could reach fifty and produce the substantial innings that was needed while chasing a mammoth total.

Who should I watch out for?

Lamb was spent time in training with England's senior group, even if she is yet to be named in a squad for a specific series. That goal, however, would appear to be getting nearer - a century against the captain of the national team can only be a good thing, after all.

Kate Cross also impressed on Saturday, taking three wickets after opening the bowling; the England seamer has been on the fringes for a while, so a strong start to the season can only help her cause as she pushes for a more regular spot in England's bowling attack.

For Sunrisers, teenager Grace Scrivens has been the subject of plenty of early praise and intrigue, while Fran Wilson could do with some big runs ahead of the international summer, given the competition for places in England's middle order.

What's the team news?

Both teams are expected to have their England players available once again.
