Hampshire’s Lewis McManus has signed a contract extension with the club, taking the wicketkeeper through to the end of the 2020 season.
The 25-year-old has spent his entire professional career with the Ageas Bowl county, having initially represented the club at age-group level.
He has made 111 first-team appearances since making his bow in 2015, scoring more than 2,200 runs and affecting 146 dismissals in the process.
McManus’ glovework is widely regarded on the county circuit as among the best around, with his impact behind the stumps especially visible in the T20 Blast.
The club’s director of cricket, Giles White, said: “We’re delighted that Lewis has signed an extension here at Hampshire. He’s impressed with the way he continues to develop and improve his game and we know that players who have that ability have a very high ceiling.
“He’s also part of a strong group of young players who have come through our player pathway system – he’s a great lad and we look forward to seeing Lewis continue his progress in the coming years.”
McManus added: “I’m delighted to extend my contract at my home county, Hampshire. It’s a really exciting time to be a part of this team and there’s a real belief that we are close to achieving success across all formats.
“I’m looking forward to a strong winter to be able to hit the ground running next season and contribute to winning games of cricket for the club.”
