Talent Cricket Young Player of the Month: Dan Stevens

This month has seen a trio of centuries for the Lancashire prodigy

Dan Stevens has enjoyed a remarkable summer so far. The 15-year-old has been unstoppable with the bat scoring 145, 108 and 110 for Greenmount CC.

The talent is clear but this season everything has fallen into place for the Lancashire Performance Squad batsman.

"Dan has always been a good player but used get himself out in the teens and twenties," said his father, John.

"But this year Greenmount, where Matthew Hayden was once a professional, have assured him that he will open in every game." And how the runs have flowed since then.

Add in Stevens' six fifties this season as well and we have ourselves a very worthy winner of the Talent Cricket Young Player of the Month.

Stevens has benefitted from being coached by Franklyn Stephenson in Barbados at the start of the year and was "put through the mincer" by the great West Indian.

Stevens also captains the U15s when available, coaches and umpires the U13s and is an All Stars Cricket activator.

"He's just a nice kid who enjoys his cricket."
