"Clubs like this play a vital role in towns and villages across the country and are the lifeblood of our sport.

"NatWest CricketForce is a brilliant example of how volunteers can bring clubs to life and get them ready for the new season.”

Roy and England and Wales Cricket Board chief-executive Tom Harrison meanwhile went to Byfleet Cricket Club for the formal opening of its new clubhouse.
