Shaw will join the club on loan until the end of the current season and is available to feature in both the County Championship and Vitality Blast
Gloucestershire have announced the acquisition of Yorkshire’s Josh Shaw. The 23-year-old has signed a contract which will keep him with the club until the end of the 2022 season.
Shaw will joins on loan until the end of the current season and is available to feature in both the County Championship and Vitality Blast.
The right-arm bowler has thanked head coach Richard Dawson for backing his ability.
"I am delighted to sign this contract with Gloucestershire and would like to go on record to thank Richard Dawson and his team for initially showing faith in me as a raw 20-year-old three seasons ago. From day one with my first spell in 2016 I was made to feel welcomed.
"I now look forward to putting in the hard yards and competing for a starting berth in all formats and helping the ‘Shire’ achieve success."
Dawson himself said: "It's great that Josh is joining us for the long term after Yorkshire allowed him to come on a few loan spells over the past few seasons. All the coaches and back room staff are looking forward to working with him and continuing his development."
Shaw has taken 23 wickets at 22.87 in six Championship matches for Gloucestershire this summer.
