Gareth Roderick is extending his stay at Gloucestershire
Gloucestershire have announced that wicketkeeper batsman Gareth Roderick has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2020.
The 27-year-old has been a fixture at Gloucestershire since becoming their first choice wicketkeeper in 2013 after joining the club the season before.
Roderick has scored 4,111 runs in his first-class career at an average of 36.70 alongside 882 runs at 31.50 in List A cricket and the new deal comes after the South African originally signed a contract extension in 2016 which committed him to the club until the end of the current season.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Roderick said: “I am really excited to have committed another two years with Gloucestershire. It’s an awesome squad to play in and a group that is ambitious and striving to keep improving.”
Roderick, who was a key part of the club’s Royal London One-Day Cup triumph in 2015, added: “I am looking forward to the next chapter and hoping that we can recreate that 2015 Royal London One-Day Cup success again.”
Gloucestershire chief executive Will Brown said: “Gareth is a fantastic player and his commitment to the Club for a further two years is great news. He is a huge part of our squad and our plans for the future and we’re delighted to extend his contract."
