Dominic Goodman has signed a new contract with Gloucestershire which will see him remain with the club until at least the end of the 2023 season.

The 20-year-old pace bowler, who previously represented Buckinghamshire in age-group cricket, burst onto the scene in 2021, taking 3 for 55 against Somerset in the West Country derby on debut.

In his first four first-class matches, Goodman has taken five wickets and bowled with an economy of 2.42. He has also scored 20 runs, including a dogged 48-ball nine to secure a draw at Hampshire.

He is yet to make his white-ball debut.

Commenting on his new contract, Goodman said: "I’ve absolutely loved my first two years on the staff at Glos and the experience of playing first team cricket at the start of the season is something I’m delighted to be able to extend. I’m so excited to continue playing with what is a great bunch of lads and to keep loving my cricket in Bristol."

Interim head coach, Ian Harvey, added: "We are all delighted with the promise Dom Goodman has displayed since making his debut just a couple of days after joining the first team squad back in April.

"For a young player to do so well against two of the top teams in the country in Somerset and Hampshire is fantastic and something for him to take a great deal of confidence from."
