The teenager, who only had 12 List A appearances to his name prior to the start of play, is just nine weeks older than the current third-placed player on the young guns list - Nitish Kumar.
Kumar, at 15 years and 273 days, made his bow for Canada against Afghanistan in Sharjah in 2010.
The record holder is Hasan Raza, who at a reported 14 years and 233 days old played his first ODI for Pakistan against Zimbabwe in Quetta in 1996.
He is followed by Gurdeep Singh of Kenya, who turned out first for his country at the age of 15 years and 258 days, against Afghanistan in Sharjah in 2013.
Rounding off the top five is Aaqib Javid, the Pakistani whose debut came aged 16 years and 127 days in a game against West Indies in Adelaide in 1988.
