The former Australia spinner will replace Rod Marsh who leaves his position after six years
Shane Warne will join the MCC World Cricket Committee, replacing Rod Marsh who leaves his position after six years.
Warne, who took 708 Test wickets for Australia, said: "It is an honour to have been asked to be a member."
"It is an extremely exciting time for cricket and I hope that I will have plenty to offer in discussion and debate."
Chairman Mike Gatting said Warne's vast experience will bring great insight to the table.
"We're delighted to welcome Shane on to the committee," he said.
"Obviously his profile in the world game is as big as they come and, with his extensive experience, I am sure he will offer great insights into many different facets of the game."
