Opener has scored the most ODI runs in a single venue of anyone ever after his 76 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka
Bangladesh completed a routine, 91-run victory over Zimbabwe in Mirpur but the match belonged to Tamim Iqbal.
The powerful opener's 76, made off 105 deliveries, was the mainstay of his side's below-par 215 - their lowest total in a winning cause against these opponents.
It also landed Tamim with a new world record.
The left-hander surpassed Sri Lankan legend Sanath Jayasuria at the top of the list of players with the most runs at one specific venue in one-day international cricket.
During his innings, Tamim passed Jayasuria's previous best of 2,514 runs, made in Colombo’s Premadasa Stadium.
By the time he was dismissed, stumped by Brendan Taylor off the bowling of Graeme Cremer, the Bangladeshi had moved his total at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on to 2,549. For good measure, he also eased past the 6,000-run barrier in ODIs.
The platform laid by Tamim, who shared in a 106-run second-wicket partnership with Shakib al Hasan, in the end gave Bangladesh plenty of breathing room.
Shakib claimed three wickets in Zimbabwe's reply, with on Sikandar Raza (39) going beyond 23.
Mashrafe Mortaza bagged his 30th victory as Bangladesh one-day captain, a new national record.
