All-rounder is still at home waiting to hear whether he faces a police charge
Ben Stokes has sent a good luck message to players, staff and supporters of the England team ahead of the first Ashes Test.
The highly-anticipated series gets underway in Brisbane on Thursday without Stokes, who is still waiting to hear whether he will be charged over an alleged assault in Bristol in September.
Though he is stuck in his living room, the Durham all-rounder was keen to be part of the build-up to the opening salvos Down Under and he took to Twitter to send his best wishes to every member of the touring party.
“With the Ashes starting very soon, I just wanted to get a message out to all the boys out in Australia, wishing them all the best for the first Test match,” he said. “The coaches and backroom staff as well.

“I know how much preparation has gone into making sure everyone is right and ready to go, and by the looks of it everyone is.
“I just wanted to wish all the fans who have made the long travels out to Australia all the best as well.
“I hope we can give you a good result in the first Test match.
“I’ll be sat at home watching the lads and hoping they do really well.”
