Melbourne franchise have finalised their overseas contingent for the Big Bash
Melbourne Renegades have signed Kieron Pollard and Mohammad Nabi for the Big Bash.
The pair arrive following the withdrawal from this season's competition of West Indies spinner Sunil Narine for personal reasons.
Afghanistan's Nabi, ranked third on the ICC T20 all-rounder rankings, will join up with the squad for the start of the new campaign, while Pollard is expected to arrive in the new year to replace him.
The two players join Dwayne Bravo in filling up the Renegades' quota of overseas stars for the competition.
Sunil Narine has withdrawn from the Big Bash for personal reasons
“I’m really excited to have the opportunity to play in the Big Bash for the Melbourne Renegades,” said Nabi, the first Afghan to be picked at an Indian Premier League auction.
“The tournament is highly regarded around the world and it is an experience I am looking forward to.”
Renegades head coach Andrew McDonald said: "We wish Sunil all the best. At short notice we are pleased that we’ve been able to secure players of Mohammad and Kieron’s quality who will be important contributors this season for us."
The Melbourne outfit's first game of the season is scheduled for December 21, when they take on Hobart Hurricanes.
