PAKISTAN BATSMAN BANNED FOR A YEAR AS PART OF MATCH-FIXING PROBE

The Pakistan Cricket Board have banned batsman Nasir Jamshed for a year as part of a corruption investigation.

Jamshed was suspended after failing to co-operate with authorities looking into allegations of spot-fixing.

A veteran of 48 one-day internationals, Jamshed was initially banned from all cricket in February for violarting the PCB's anti-corruption code.

"Anti Corruption Tribunal has imposed one year ban on cricketer Nasir Jamshed for Non-Co-operation with PCB ACU, more charges will be brought up in near future," a PCB statement read on Monday.

Four other players have already received suspensions following the Pakistan Super League match-fixing and spot-fixing scandal.

Batsmen Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif were handed five-year bans, while Mohammad Irfan and Mohammad Nawaz received respective 12 and two-month sentences.
