Could Minute Maid Park play host to IT20 cricket?

Texas will play host to international cricket in August following the confirmation of a Tri Series involving West Indies, Pakistan and Bangladesh in the USA.

A report from the Press Trust of India claimed that the matches have been agreed as part of a reciprocal deal which will see the Windies play three T20 games in Pakistan this spring.

Houston will be a new venue for IT20 cricket, which has already been staged at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.

The Floridian ground will also be the location for part of the series, according to the PTI report.

A possible venue for the match would be Minute Maid Park, the home of Major League Baseball outfit Houston Astros.

The stadium hosted an exhibition match between two teams, led by Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne, in November 2015.

Meanwhile, the T20 games in Pakistan have been scheduled for March 29, March 30 and April 1, an unnamed "senior source" was reported as saying.

A previous five-year arrangement, whereby Pakistan hosted West Indies and then travelled to the US for a similar tournament every 12 months, was scrapped without notice recently.

The Pakistan Cricket Board claimed the deal was not financially viable.
