SAM MOAKES: The four-time champions have unveiled their overseas contingent ahead of the 2022 edition
New Zealand internationals Colin Munro and Tim Seifert have agreed to return to Trinbago Knight Riders for this year’s Caribbean Premier League.
Big-hitting left-hander Munro is the CPL’s all-time leading overseas run-scorer, having amassed 2020 across 65 matches in the competition.
The 35-year-old was the Knight Riders’ highest scorer last year, with 267 runs at 29.66.
Wicketkeeper-batter Seifert is also back with the franchise for the third year in a row, after originally being picked up by the Knight Riders in 2020.
Seifert, who occasionally takes the gloves for Trinbago, scored 177 runs last year with a best of 40 not out.
Joining the New Zealand pair is United States international fast-bowler Ali Khan, a long servant of the franchise after first featuring for the Knight Riders in 2017.
Sri Lanka internationals Maheesh Theekshanna and Sekkuge Prasanna complete the side’s 2022 overseas signings, with the latter rejoining after his first stint in 2019.

While all overseas places have now been filled, Knight Riders have five more spots to complete their squad at the CPL draft, ahead of the competition getting underway on August 31.
Details of their picks will be released during the draft show on Thursday (July 7).
"We are very happy with our overseas signings this year. The idea was to maintain the core of the team while adding a few new resources to bolster the squad for CPL 2022," said TKR director Venky Mysore.
"Colin Munro, Ali Khan and Tim Seifert have all made significant contributions to TKR in the past and share a great bond with our local players and the franchise.
"We also look forward to welcoming the two Sri Lankans Seekkuge Prasanna and Maheesh Theekshana to complete our overseas roster for TKR this year.
"Seekkuge, of course, has already represented us in 2019, and with Theekshana coming in, the squad for this upcoming edition is shaping up very nicely for us."
