Both David Warner and Shaun Marsh are doubts ahead of the first Ashes Test
Australia have flown Glenn Maxwell to Brisbane as cover for David Warner and Shaun Marsh with the first Ashes Test less than 24 hours away.
Maxwell had been left out of the initial 13-man party for the Gabba clash against England but he has been summoned after Marsh reported an issue with his back on Wednesday.
With opener Warner having picked up a neck problem on Tuesday, Australia's selectors convened an emergency meeting to discuss potential replacements.
And that led to Maxwell being flown in to Queensland as cover.

Given Australia have not opted to call in an alternative specialist batsman, it appears Warner will be fit to play.
But Maxwell could well slot into the XI in place of Marsh, who was seen speaking with Aussie team physio David Beakley after Wednesday's net session.
Meanwhile, England have named their line-up for the first game of the five-match series.
Jake Ball makes it into the side, while Craig Overton - the uncapped Somerset seamer who has impressed on tour - misses out.
