When it comes to wanting the best for your cricket club, it’s a no-brainer that you want to have the newest training technology at your disposal.

That’s all well and good, but the reality of amateur sport means budgets are often tight and affordability becomes a major issue.

But, as a pioneer in the field, DEM Sports have found a solution, thanks to their investment in laser-cutting technology for their products.

The investment means their customers are going to be able to get their hands on new, top of the range equipment – including practice cages, sightscreens and other necessities - at budget prices without compromising on quality.

“Using this new technology is cutting our manufacturing time down and giving us a better lead-in time for our products,” says DEM founder, John Loveday.

“It’s going to bring us cost savings on our current range of equipment, so we’re going to be able to hand that down to clubs and schools as well.”

DEM are true innovators in the world of cricket training facilities.

They were the first firm in the world to design a concertina-effect folding cricket net system – to put it simply, they built the original folding practice cage.

Among those to have benefitted from DEM products over the years are county clubs including Durham, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Leicestershire, Sussex, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.

Club cricket and schools across the country rely on their services too, as well as international clients as far afield as the USA, Hong Kong and Australia.

An exciting partnership with Batting Cages, in Australia, also enhances DEM’s reputation globally.

“We’re currently working on an order for two of our 17m cages for a club in the Netherlands and the turnaround time on those is really quick because we’ve invested in the latest technology,” adds Loveday.

“This investment makes things much easier from the customer’s point of view too; laser cutting means components are manufactured with precision accuracy meaning installation is much simpler and quicker”.

All of the Norfolk firm’s products are designed and built in Great Britain, with input from respected figures in the sport, including the ground staff at Lords’, who installed four single lane folding nets at the Nursery Ground.
