The incident occurred during the 89th over of New Zealand's second innings at Headingley, with Broad throwing the ball in the direction of Daryl Mitchell
Stuart Broad has been penalised for breaching the ICC’s code of conduct during the third Test between England and New Zealand at Headingley.
The pace bowler was found to have breached Article 2.9 of the code, which relates to throwing the ball at or near a player in an inappropriate and/or dangerous manner.
In the 89th over of New Zealand’s second innings, Broad fielded a ball and threw it in the direction of batter Daryl Mitchell, who was stood within the popping crease and not intending on taking a run.

Broad admitted the Level 1 offence, which was levelled by on-field umpires Marais Erasmus and Richard Kettleborough, third umpire Aleem Dar, and fourth umpire David Millns, and receives one demerit point on his disciplinary record.
The 36-year-old now has two demerit points to his name.
If a player receives four points over a 24-month period, they are banned for either one Test match or two limited overs matches, whatever comes first.

Amazed that Stuart currently has only 2 demerits. Social media comments at the time from youth coaches were highly critical and, as a former teacher, I concur. Broady is a bit old for brattishness.

If the the ball is not doing anything let’s change it to one that is time to move on from these 2 excellent bowlers,
