Following an impressive return to the international fold at the start of the T20I series, Durham's Brydon Carse has been called up to the 50-over group for the series starting in Cardiff on Friday (September 8)
Brydon Carse will get the chance to stake a late claim for inclusion in England's World Cup title defence after being added to the one-day international squad to face New Zealand.
The Durham seamer took four wickets in the first two T20Is against the Kiwis at Chester-le-Street and Old Trafford, having been originally called up to replace the injured John Turner.
Carse will hope to take that form into the ODI series, which begins in Cardiff on September 8, before moving to Southampton, the Kia Oval and Lord's.
In nine previous ODIs, Carse has taken four wickets and scored 77 runs.
The 15-strong group selected for the matches is set to be the same party that embarks to India to defend England's 50-over title across October and November.

Nations do not have to name their provisional squad until September 5 and can make changes without obtaining permission from the ICC up until September 28.
Four years ago, England made two late changes to their triumphant 2019 group, adding Jofra Archer and Liam Dawson to replace Joe Denly and David Willey.
That will offer hope to both Carse and Harry Brook, who has hit a hot streak of form since being overlooked for selection.
Brook signed off The Hundred with a blistering 108 not out for Northern Superchargers, before kicking off the T20s scores of 43 not out and 67 in victories at Durham and Manchester.
