GEORGE DOBELL explains why his Betfair Moment of the Day was the self-inflicted runout of Shubman Gill, shortly after lunch on day one at the Kia Oval

Shubman Gill's runout was entirely self-inflicted and summed up an ordinary day's Test cricket at the Kia Oval.

Gill, well set on 21, dropped the ball at his feet and set off for a single that was never available, almost slipping as he turned back mid-pitch, by which point Gus Atkinson, the bowler, was already aiming his throw at the stumps, with India's captain not even in the frame when the bails were dislodged.
