Josh Tongue has sustained a stress fracture in his left foot
Worcestershire seamer Josh Tongue will miss England Lions' winter tour after suffering a stress fracture in his left foot.
Tongue, who was initially named in the travelling party subject to medical clearance, underwent an MRI scan which confirmed the nature of the injury and will no longer be available for the trip.
He has been replaced in the squad by Saqib Mahmood.
Tongue has already endured a similar issue in 2018 and missed two-and-a-half months of the campaign.
Despite that problem, he ended the County Championship campaign with 40 wickets in Division One.
The Lions are due to play a single four-day Test against Pakistan on the red-ball leg of the tour.
