Kohler-Cadmore joins the squad, Joe Root resting ahead of the World Cup; Roy turned down the opportunity to play the last two ODIs
Somerset batter Tom Kohler-Cadmore has been added to England's ODI squad to face Ireland after Jason Roy turned down the opportunity.
Joe Root was due to play the series opener at Headingley on Wednesday as preparation ahead of the World Cup but that game was washed out, and Root is now set to rest ahead of England's defence of their crown.

Roy had looked primed for a World Cup berth but was dropped late on for Harry Brook after a series of back spasms left him unable to feature in four matches against New Zealand, during which Dawid Malan staked his claim with a run of consistent scores.

Jos Buttler has suggested that Roy will be England's batter on standby, should he remain available for selection.
Kohler-Cadmore, meanwhile, is uncapped but has developed a reputation on the franchise circuit and has represented England Lions in white-ball cricket. In eight List A appearances for the Lions, he has passed fifty twice.
The 29-year-old left Yorkshire for Somerset ahead of the 2023 season.
