Curran hasn't played a Test match for England since August 2021 and spent the winter on the sidelines with a stress fracture in his back
England allrounder Sam Curran has his sights set on a return to the "exciting" Test side.
The 24-year-old has made 24 Test appearances for England, scoring 815 runs and taking 47 wickets, with his most recent appearance coming against India in August 2021.
He sat out the entire winter with a stress fracture in his back, missing both the T20 World Cup and the Ashes, but is due to return to the international stage during England’s ODI series against the Netherlands later in June.

Curran has also made four red-ball appearances for Surrey in the LV= Insurance County Championship, scoring 328 runs and bowling 17 wicketless overs, and is eager to push his way back into Ben Stokes’ England side.
"It was massively exciting to watch them, a fantastic win and a game that had everything," Curran said in an interview with Press Association, referencing England’s win over New Zealand at Lord’s.
"There will be no backward steps under Ben and that’s the way I like to play too. Hopefully it’s the start of a successful Test summer for the guys and, hopefully, I’ll be back around the group.
"My main focus is to get back to the Test match set-up, but I’m taking it a week at a time and making sure I don’t look too far ahead."
