England Test captain will sit out the games in February following an intense schedule Down Under during the winter
England will be without Joe Root for the upcoming Tri Series
Joe Root has backed out of England's T20 squad for the upcoming Tri Series against Australia and New Zealand.
The national Test captain, who goes under at the hammer at the Indian Premier League auction this weekend, has had a hectic schedule during his country's Tour of Australia where he has played in each of the five Ashes matches as well as three one-day internationals.
Two further ODIs are to come, in Adelaide and Perth, and Root will then take a break, returning to join his team-mates for the 50-over games in New Zealand from February 25.

Root will sit out the series after a busy winter schedule
"I came into this tour wanting to play everything. I love playing for England and I don't like missing games of cricket," Root said.
"I had a long chat with Trevor Bayliss about things and there's obviously a big summer ahead and a lot of cricket still to be played. It's going to be really important to make sure that I'm available for all of that.
"The decision has been made to have a little break. I'm sure when I'm at home I will be sat watching and willing the lads on."
England's first T20 outing is against Australia in Hobart on February 7.
