Virat Kohli reacts to being bowled by Adil Rashid

Adil Rashid left Virat Kohli looking like he'd seen a ghost with a dazzling delivery to dismiss the world's best batsman at Headingley.

With Kohli looking in fine nick and well set for a mammoth score in the third one-day international between England and India on Tuesday, Rashid produced an I-was-there moment for the crowd to savour with a savage leg break.

The India skipper was unbeaten on 71 from as many balls when Rashid floated the ball towards his leg stump.

Unperturbed, Kohli looked to flick the ball off his pads for a single. He wasn't ready for what happened next.

Kohli was on 71 when he was castled by a tremendous leg break

Conjuring up memories of the so-called Ball of the Century from Shane Warne, which dismissed Mike Gatting during a 1993 Ashes Test match at Old Trafford, Rashid's delivery pinched the pitch, turning viciously before catching the top of off stump.

Its trajectory was not quite as prolific as that Warne ball all those years ago but it was most certainly special, and had Kohli almost stupefied.

He stood, gawping down the wicket, for several seconds, trying to digest what he had just seen, or rather not, before walking back to the dressing room with a slight shake of the head.

Up in the stands, Yorkshire fans who have just seen their club sign a legspinner on a one-match loan deal for the upcoming Championship Roses clash with Lancashire while Rashid and his white-ball contract spend time in the nets must have been doing the same.
