Wood went under the knife in London on Saturday after flying home from the Test tour of the Caribbean
Mark Wood looks unlikely to be fit for England's Test series against New Zealand in June after undergoing surgery on his right elbow.
Wood, who was forced home from the Caribbean tour after feeling pain during the first Test, had surgery in London on Saturday to remove bone and scar tissue that was causing an impingement when he bowled.
While no firm date has been given for his return to competitive cricket, the hope is he will be able to bowl in the nets in May.

From there, it is likely he will return in T20 cricket for Durham.
England's three Test series against New Zealand starts at Lord's on June 2.
England will be hopeful Wood can get himself back to full red-ball fitness as quickly as possible
They are already set to be without Jofra Archer for the duration of the Test summer, and have keenly felt the lack of raw pace on their Caribbean tour.
