England will be without another front-line pace bowler after the Durham man was forced out of the Headingley clash
England's fast-bowling options have been further depleted by the loss of Mark Wood for the third Test against India at Headingley.
The 31-year-old jarred his right shoulder while fielding during day four of the second Test defeat at Lord's.
He went on to bowl on day five of the match and was named in the original squad for the third Test, which begins on Wednesday (August 25).
But England have ruled the Durham quick out of the clash, though he will remain with the squad in Leeds to continue his rehabilitation ahead of the remainder of the series.
It is a further blow to the hosts, who are already without Stuart Broad, Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes, Olly Stone and Chris Woakes due to injury.
Wood's replacement will come from either Craig Overton of Somerset or Lancashire's Saqib Mahmood, who is yet to play a Test.
England were already braced to make at least one change from the 151-run loss at Lord's after leaving out Dom Sibley and recalling Dawid Malan.
India lead the five-Test series 1-0 with three to go as they chase a first series win on these shores since 2007.
