Jofra Archer will rejoin the England squad in training on Tuesday after returning a second negative test for Covid-19.

Archer has spent five days in isolation at Emirates Old Trafford after breaching bio-secure protocols and returning to his flat in Hove after the first Test against West Indies at the Ageas Bowl.

He has trained independently from his teammates over recent days, but has spent the majority of his time confined to his hotel room.

However, after two negative tests he is now free to rejoin the rest of the group as they prepare for the start of the final match of the series against West Indies on Friday.

Archer is available for selection for that game, after an ECB disciplinary panel stopped short of banning him as punishment for his indiscretion last week.

The seamer was fined his second-Test match fee - reportedly in the region of £15,000 - and given a formal warning as to his actions in visiting home.

Ashley Giles, the managing director of England men's cricket who chaired the panel, told the media last week that Archer's breach of the bio-secure bubble had the potential to cost English cricket "tens of millions of pounds".

The governing body has supported the player during his time in isolation, however, with members of staff regularly checking up on his wellbeing, while his teammates have sent him messages of support over WhatsApp.
