Roy's ban has been suspended for 12 months, dependent on good behaviour, while he has been ordered to pay his fine by the end of March
Jason Roy has been fined £2,500 and given a suspended ban from England's next two matches.
The sanction has been handed down by the Cricket Discipline Commission, which acts at an arm's length from the ECB, but has not at this stage made clear for what Roy has been punished.
He is said to have admitted breaching ECB Directive 3.3, which relates to "conducting himself in a manner which may be prejudicial to the interests of cricket or which may bring the game of cricket, the ECB and himself into disrepute".
Roy's ban has been suspended for 12 months, dependent on good behaviour, while he has been ordered to pay his fine by the end of March.
The Cricketer has asked the ECB for comment.
