Harry Brook is swapping sixes for home runs after signing up to be a brand ambassador for Major League Baseball and a short stint at St Louis Cardinals' spring training camp in Florida.

England star Brook will sport the MLB logo on his bat as part of the agreement.

Brook's endorsement comes on the back of a remarkable winter for the Yorkshire batter, who has made four hundreds in his first six Test appearances, averaging almost 81 in the process and doing so in a style that has left onlookers purring.

“I'm really excited for this partnership and can’t wait to try my hand at hitting some home runs," he said.

"I’m intrigued to see how different it is to cricket and what similarities there are too – will a home run feel as good as hitting a 6? I'm also excited to learn from how other professional sportspeople go about their game and see if there are any transferable skills between batting in baseball and cricket."

England quick Issy Wong has also signed up to promote MLB. Wong is in India rather than the United States as she prepares for the inaugural Women's Premier League with Mumbai Indians, but the teenage seamer is also joining up in a commercial partnership with MLB.

"It's brilliant to be part of the movement to introduce baseball to a new audience outside the US," she said. "Seeing the difference The Hundred has made here engaging with young fans and being part of the first WPL shows the appetite the next generation has for sport."

She added in a video with MLB Europe on Instagram: "I think there's definitely things that we as cricketers can learn from baseball."
