Morgan fell for 66, but Dawid Malan finished unbeaten on 54 as England put the finishing touches to an accomplished chase - the highest ever against Pakistan in T20Is
Manchester: Pakistan 194-5 v England 198-5 - England win by five wickets
Eoin Morgan played a fine captain's innings as England recorded the highest successful T20 chase at Emirates Old Trafford to beat Pakistan.
England were forced to chase 196 after a combination of poor bowling and terrific batting had seen the visitors post a formidable total.
For the third powerplay in a row - following the latter two games of a three-match series against South Africa earlier this year, England failed to take a wicket in the powerplay. Instead, Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman attacked hard, laying a platform for their teammates.
Adil Rashid accounted for both of them, with Zaman holing out to Tom Banton at long-on to hand the leg-spinner his 1,000th wicket of his professional career, while Babar hit a short ball straight to Sam Billings at deep midwicket.
It opened the door, however, for the tourists' old guard; Mohammad Hafeez was in fine form for his 69 - from just 36 deliveries. He put on a stand of fifty with another old-stager in Shoaib Malik, before Malik was caught by Morgan at cover.

Dawid Malan made an unbeaten half century
He also took the catch off Tom Curran to dismiss Hafeez in the final over of the innings, with England just about able to keep Pakistan's total beneath 200.
On a good pitch, however, England had won the toss with the intention of chasing whatever necessary.
And Jonny Bairstow and Banton soon got to work; they took the six-over powerplay for 64, during which time Mohammad Amir limped off with a suspected hamstring problem.
But when both openers fell to Shadab Khan's leg-breaks in successive deliveries, the advantage threatened to change hands once more. Yet, Morgan and Dawid Malan then put on 112 in just 10.2 overs to go a long way to securing victory for the hosts.
Morgan fell for 66, but Malan finished unbeaten on 54 as England put the finishing touches to an accomplished chase - the highest ever against Pakistan in T20Is.
