England have named an unchanged squad for the fifth Ashes Test against Australia at The Oval.

The selectors have refrained from making any changes despite the tourists retaining the urn after their 182-run victory in the fourth Test at Old Trafford.

Ben Stokes is retained despite suffering from a shoulder injury which meant he could not bowl during Australia's second innings.

The Durham allrounder will be assessed in the coming days to determine whether he will be fit to bowl during the match, which starts on Thursday, September 12.

Chris Woakes and Sam Curran missed out from the 13-man party for the Test in Manchester but are under consideration for this match.

Already leading 2-1, a victory for Australia at the home of Surrey will see them claim a first series win in England since 2001.

England squad: Joe Root (C), Jofra Archer, Jonny Bairstow, Stuart Broad, Rory Burns, Jos Buttler, Sam Curran, Joe Denly, Jack Leach, Craig Overton, Jason Roy, Ben Stokes, Chris Woakes
