Ben Stokes will be given every chance to commit himself to England's T20 World Cup squad.

The 30-year-old is currently taking an indefinite break from cricket and has given no indication over when or if he will return.

A deadline of September 10 has been given by the ICC for nations to confirmed their travelling party. Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Pakistan have so far announced their squads.

Stokes is not expected to feature in the Indian Premier League for Rajasthan Royals but no decision has yet been reached regarding the World Cup.

"We're going to leave that one later, to be honest to give us all the best chance," said head coach Chris Silverwood ahead of the announcement. "Whatever support Ben needs he will get from us.

England will not rush back Ben Stokes, insists Chris Silverwood

"I haven't spoken to him just as yet. I've given him as much space as I can but there are people talking to him outside of me.

"It is certainly something we will be revisiting shortly. I'm putting no pressure on him, I will not be rushing him whatever support he needs he will get.

Conversations will Stokes over his availability have not yet taken place - the priority is his mental wellbeing - but the ECB are in regular contact with the Durham allrounder.

Eoin Morgan's side kick-off their campaign against holders West Indies on October 23.

"First and foremost my only concern is for him - I want to make sure he is ok," added Silverwood. "At some point that will be asked and once we've gone to that the rest of the questions will come."
