England seamer Stuart Broad
Stuart Broad is playing on through the pain of a broken rib on the final day of the international summer.
The England seamer sustained the injury on the second morning of the fifth Test against India at the Kia Oval, when he was struck by a fierce delivery from Jasprit Bumrah.
However, he has continued to take part in the game, making an important 38 with the bat in the first innings and then striking late on Monday to dismiss Virat Kohli for a golden duck.
The injury is likely to rule Broad out of Nottinghamshire's remaining County Championship matches.
The fast bowler, now eighth on the all-time Test wicket-takers' list after going past Sir Richard Hadlee during the game in south London, is expected to recover in time for the tour of Sri Lanka in November.
However, it remains to be seen whether the selectors will rest Broad, or his partner-in-arms Jimmy Anderson for the first leg of a winter schedule that also includes a trip to the Caribbean.
