Stuart Broad, who averages a shade over 29 in Test cricket, has dismissed batsmen 173 times caught in front of the wicket, 97 times caught behind, 69 times bowled and 59 via lbw decisions
Stuart Broad has 400 Test wickets
Stuart Broad took the 400th wicket of his Test match career but the occasion will have been dampened by a miserable England performance on day one in Auckland.
Broad snared New Zealand opener Tom Latham, caught at midwicket, in the first over of the third session at Eden Park.
A memorable moment came in unhappy circumstances, however, as England were already behind in the Test, having been bowled out for just 58 earlier in the day.
Still, Broad's achievement should not be downplayed.

Broad is 15th on the all-time Test wicket-takers list
The Nottinghamshire seamer reached 400 scalps in his 115th Test match, a career stretching back to his debut in 2007.
He sits 15th on the all-time Test match wicket-takers list, just five shy of West Indies legend Sir Curtly Ambrose, and is the second most prolific English bowler ever, behind his strike partner Jimmy Anderson.
Broad has claimed the wickets of some of the biggest names in world cricket.
He dismissed former Australian captain Michael Clarke on 11 occasions, sent South Africa legend AB de Villiers back to the pavilion 10 times and got rid of four players, including Hashim Amla and Ross Taylor, in eight instances each.
Broad, who averages a shade over 29 in Test cricket, has dismissed batsmen 173 times caught in front of the wicket, 97 times caught behind, 69 times bowled and 59 via lbw decisions.
