Scans revealed the Somerset bowler was carrying an injury
Somerset seamer Craig Overton has left the England Lions tour of the UAE after scans revealed he has a lower back injury.
Overton was part of England's squad during last year's Ashes tour, and made his Test debut on the same tour.
He is one of four Somerset players in the England Lions squad, along with his brother Jamie, Dom Bess and Lewis Gregory.

The Lions medical team explained: "Craig developed low back pain whilst bowling in training and scans subsequently revealed that he has sustained a disc injury.
"In collaboration with Somerset, the decision has been made for Craig to return to the UK for rehabilitation."
There will be no replacement for Overton on the tour, which gets underway with a four-day match against Pakistan A on 18 November.
